Several years ago, I addressed the utterly bastardised concept of academia as a “safe space”.
It’s meant to be a safe space to explore challenging, dogmatic and even immoral topics.
Not a space where you shouldn’t hear things you don’t like.
I thought we were past this in academia.
If you don’t agree with someone’s thesis, go, listen and challenge them. It’s part of what a university education is about.
Academics, including Michael, welcome dialogue. It’s part of our job.
South Wales Police has instructed officers to log comments they feel are beyond "legitimate" criticism of Islam.
This is, exactly as I warned, a blasphemy law through the back door.
Nobody voted for this.
My letter to the Chief Constable👇🏾
"I have brought to your attention evidence of a crime. It is open to Crown Office to require an investigation. That is what I am asking you to do. If you decline, perhaps you could explain why." 🍿

My testosterone is, I feel, returning after 2yrs on "puberty blockers".
Feels like having a tiny AAA battery replaced by battery from a lorry tractor unit.
Vrooom!
When my T levels were "undetectable", was I a "woman"?
Of course not.
All I was was a man with reduced T levels.
Police officers are being sacked for questioning Islam. EVERY religion is open to question. Faith is open to inspection and criticism simply because it is just that - something for the person who believes but not theirs to impose on others. Belief that any one religion is beyond question is unacceptable in the UK.
🚨(1)BREAKING: Christian community police officer wins settlement after being forced out of his role for questioning and criticising Islam during diversity training.
Luke Salmons, who has been supported by the Christian Legal Centre, was suspended for six months, forced to resign and put on a police barring list after he had questioned radical Islam in a training session.
He had been told that the session was a 'safe place' for discussion, but after expressing his beliefs, the consequences were devastating.
After taking legal action, his case has now been settled on confidential terms, however his story raises serious concerns about free speech and religious freedom in UK policing.

@jan_murray@labourlewis Only biological women can and do give birth to babies. There is no such thing as 'birthing people', only women. Most women, and those of us whose work is very centred around birth trauma/medical maternity scandals find this erasure of women extremely offensive.

You mentioned me on a discussion I can no longer reply to. If you'd like to keep the discussion going please feel free to reply here
The Scottish Court of Session has just ruled that providing multi-user unisex toilets in a primary school amounted to indirect sex discrimination against female pupils.

@kevinmyoung In My 3.17 the word (eudokia) primarily means good will, delight, favor, or good pleasure.
To translate that as "pride" (as per the sin) is quite the move of hubris
But you knew that
Non-SNP members donated to the ring-fenced fund. They did not give that money thinking it would become “part of the resources available” to the SNP.
They gave that money expressly for a future referendum campaign. And it’s gone.
