It seems to me that it is untrue to say no one is above the law at least in the USA. That surely is the effect of the supreme Court's ruling about the Powers of the Presidency. It is also the message and the effect of the easy way in which the President of the USA is allowed to pardon whoever he is she wishes. Now it seems that the Director of the FBI is able to order the arrest of judges over matters which to say the least are not clear cut. What is happening in the USA is chilling. At one time the USA was a shingingvlight and beacon to the world. It represented a hope for the world that freedom and the rule of law were not merely aspirations but realities. Over the last 100 days, the fragility of that hope has been demonstrated to all, throughout the world. If the peoples of the USA fail to protect that beacon and light it will soon be no more. Arbitrary and tyrannical rule will have become undeniable facts in the USA and that alone will be enough to mean that no where and no one in the world will be truly safe.

THE FREEDOM OF THE JUDICIARY IS FUNDAMENTAL TO THE FREEDOM OF ALL. WITHOUT IT JUDGES CANNOT PROTECT US FROM THE ARBITRARY WHIM OF THE EXECUTIVE, WHETHER THEY BE EMPERORS, KINGS, PRESIDENTS OR WHATEVER FANCY NAME AND TITLE THEY ARE GIVEN

She was both true to her background and never confined by it. Yes, he is certainly the worst in modern history and on multiple fronts. He makes violent swings in policy, antagonises America’s allies, gives succour to America’s enemies, produces division amongst the American people, has a tenuous grasp on the truth, routinely denigrates patriotic Americans, American institutions, and America’s friends. He was led by the nose by Israel into a disastrous war with Iran which makes America appear weak, and he uses unconstitutional means to force through ill-thought out policies and in so doing threatens the very existence of the country he leads, he had wreaked economic havoc both at home and abroad. The results of his second term are yet to be fully realised but he could well have set in motion events which could lead to the break up of the USA, a total collapse of the international system, the outbreak of a conventional world war and with the real but almost unimaginable possibility of nuclear war. It is difficult to imagine how anyone could been a worse president than Trumphas been.

What is so sad is that amongst those who have put him in the position that he is in, are the poorly educated, those left behind and those with genuine grievances about how society is structured and how effort and hard work are rewarded. What Trump promised these people and what he is delivering are poles apart. He is shifting the burden of tax onto them and away from the rich, he is removing funded health care from them and the rises in the cost of living caused by his policies hits them the hardest. Moreover, if war does come, it will be their children who are most likely to be called up and who will probably have the greatest chance of being injured or killed in action.

President Trump and Vice President Vance, even more so, were incredibly rude to a foreign leader and allay of the US who was their guest.
