@miriam_cates Is the triple lock fair is it equitable? Pensioners, unlike those of working age cannot improve their circumstances, through extra effort or education. Some point out that they can claim benefits to protect them from poverty this only highlights the inadequacy of the provision.

@PaulEmbery You are taking a very Eurocentric position. What happens in Iran now is unimportant to the USA. Closing or restricting the straights of Hormuz hurts China as did the Venezuela and Suez operations. The effect on Europe is not a consideration, possibly even a plus for the USA.
