Being important in a child’s life is not about being the most entertaining adult in the room.
It is about becoming someone they can trust to notice, listen, tell the truth, hold a boundary, and keep showing up after a difficult day.
That influence is earned in ordinary moments. A quiet check-in. A promise kept. A correction delivered with dignity. A student realizing that an adult sees more in them than the mistake they just made.
What is one small moment that helped you earn a student’s trust?

The first day pic is great and all, but I’m here for the END of the first day pic. That’s where we get real. Crackers on the floor with your hair up is a full mood after the first day back 🥴😂🍎 #CheckOnMeTomorrow#2ndGrade#SendHelp
My name is Miss Mannion (for now) and I finally counted past 120 and got my sight words down, so I moved up to 2nd grade! My new teacher seems pretty cool but who knows, it was only day one. 🤷🏼♀️ #HappyFirstDay#SecondGrade
We could not have asked for a more beautiful day to host the 4th annual Ed Camp Rockland today!
During the wonderfully #Groovy event, educators from across Rockland County joined together for an exciting, shared, learning experience! #Peace#Love#Teach
