Fact check: Canada has not been ripping us off for years, we've consistently had the better end of the deal with them thanks to them selling us crude at a big discount. Also, tariffs on agricultural products are quota based and rarely come into play + only exist to prevent Canadian farmers from going bankrupt.

Who HAS been screwing over the farmers and making "life impossible for these great American patriots", is Trump, whose tariffs have massively increased the cost of fertilizer (and whose war has caused a big shortage of product to where a lot of our fields are bare this year) and has consistently sought to import products from other nations to the detriment of said farmers/ranchers as he tries to come up with ways to keep costs from spiraling as a result of his disastrous policy decisions.

So there's that.

The small percentage of people in this country who continue to absurdly blame Canada for the Trump-caused trade war have recently used the Canada-China trade deal as an excuse for spreading Trump’s rhetoric and siding with the U.S. against Canada.

Yet, those same voices are silent on Trump’s hypocrisy, ignoring the fact that Trump feels perfectly entitled to trade with China, make concessions to China, and regularly praises Xi.

Trump’s criticism of Canada isn’t really about China; rather, it’s about Trump wanting Canada to remain dependent on trade with the U.S., so he can more easily inflict economic pain on our country and try to rob us of our sovereignty. Canadians must push back against that, and those who spread Trump’s false rhetoric seeking to undermine our nation need to be called out.

People acting like @MarkJCarney is betraying Canada because he’s looking for investment outside the U.S. are missing the entire point.

Depending almost entirely on one country for trade and capital is reckless. Full stop. Especially when that country is openly talking about tariffs, protectionism, and “America First” again. That’s not loyalty — that’s risk management.

Carney’s doing what any serious leader should do: making sure Canada isn’t boxed into a corner. Europe, Asia, the Middle East — there’s money, markets, and opportunity everywhere, and pretending the U.S. is the only option is how you end up weak and desperate.

This isn’t anti-American. It’s pro-Canada.

A strong country diversifies. A smart country plans ahead. And right now, Carney is one of the few people actually thinking long-term instead of chasing headlines.

Honestly, it’s refreshing to see someone put Canada first in a grown-up way for once.
