Calling all @NorthwesternU applicants!
If you’ve been accepted (congrats!), it’s very likely you were given less financial aid than you deserve.
If the only benchmark you had to compare was NU’s net price calculator (NPC), definitely contact us for a second opinion.
You can and should appeal what was offered!

Did you know colleges are REQUIRED to review and assess any financial aid appeal they receive?
Some colleges (looking at you @nyuniversity…) might tell you otherwise, but it’s true.
This doesn’t mean appeal everything, but do not be shy if you think your family was shortchanged. Colleges make mistakes all the time.

@nyuniversity says they don't do financial aid appeals.
Our families who appealed in the last 30 days would disagree.
Federal funding = required appeals process. No exceptions.
When colleges say "we don't negotiate," they're hoping you won't ask.
But asking works. We've seen it.
College applications all submitted and now playing the waiting game?
Don’t sit around.

College acceptances and financial aid awards are starting to roll in. #college
72% of students are given less than they deserve.
If you think you were shortchanged and deserve more aid, you’re probably right.
Don’t be afraid to appeal!

CAP family: @nyuniversity said they don’t do financial aid appeals.
CAP: Yes they do. Ignore that.
Family: But we don’t want to upset them!
CAP: Definitely appeal. Trust us.
@nyuniversity: We have reviewed your appeal and are granting an additional $31,000 per year in financial aid.
CAP Family:
Planning for college costs starts earlier than most families think. Because FAFSA uses prior-prior year income, the financial aid “snapshot” is already set for many families. MyCAP helps you understand PPY and plan smarter from here. #CollegePlanning#collegeaidpro#financialaid
