It’s hard to gain weight/add muscle if you’re not consistently eating breakfast.
“Consistently” isn’t 3-4x a week for a month. It’s 7x a week for 3 months. Start with that.
For team sport athletes (IMHO)- Squat deep when it's time to get strong in the offseason. Squat shallower when it is time to compete to limit fatigue, also evidence that there may be a really good transfer between 1/4 squats and sprints and jumps in already strong athletes.

The goal here is not to identify people at the bottom and write them off.
Inevitably, some may have to go at some point, but with a proper plan of action and consistent feedback you’d be surprised how many people are capable of moving into better roles.
