Yesterday I spoke to about 100 young leaders about my motivation to continue operating in the politics of Nigeria

Things we must do differently as young people specifically my switch from building popularity to building political structures that will outlive us all

It was a time of soul searching for alot of us and a humbling experience for me

At the end, I mentioned that ADC is the only party in Nigeria that has demonstrated tremendous faith in the ability of young people to chat a new cause for our country and I'm excited for what the future holds for our politics.

I was moving from place to place educating people. Telling them that the news was fake and also educating them that their money was safe. Do you know how many people pulled their funds

I completely agree that what she did was wrong and that OPay may have suffered significant reputational and financial consequences as a result and the company has every right to seek justice. My point, however, is that accountability and forgiveness are not mutually exclusive, and I believe Hafsat has learned a very serious lesson from the consequences of her actions.

I am not arguing that she should be above the law or that the authorities should not investigate. I am simply appealing to OPay, as the affected party, to consider whether continuing against a young student who has acknowledged her mistake and apologised is proportionate.

The law can take its course, but there is also room for OPay to show compassion and withdraw its complaint or reconsider further action.

I am only appealing to them to temper justice with mercy.
