I can't lie that, in my 3 weeks of actually using TwiX, I have been a part of angry trash more than I should. ONLY (I think), in response to people being offensive. Not a reason that makes it better, and I hate that I do it at least as much as I like doing it ;)

I am weird. Typically I am only interested in engaging with people who have differing perspectives, because I cannot learn anything from what I am already steeped in. (I always have to reiterate, that is not me saying I am a lefty, just that's what I am exposed to more often)

I have had a handful (a lot imo) of really great conversations with people that, was more than a slight negative interaction.

Everybody wants to shut down discourse for superficial reasons and perceived, or real, anger. Difficult conversations ARE difficult, duh. Arguments are natural for communication, and can/should be very productive.

There is much less to be gained by consuming media and surrounding yourself with those you are familiar already.
