Male specimens of the genus Tipula can show complex genital organs, to use a euphemism. Here Tipula longidens and Tipula lunata, two very common forest species in #Catalonia, also in the #canopy

1/2 #speciesaday no. 277 is Pedicia rivosa. A stonking and highly distinctive cranefly associated with wet places, I have only ever seen it in places with Sphagnum. Commoner in the north and west than the south east. I have records from 11th May to 3rd September.
