@JohnnyBoyLives Long gone are the days when “if you can’t say something nice don’t say anything at all” was the norm. That’s obviously a general expression and there are lots of times one should speak up. But in matters of culture and art I don’t see the value in constantly tearing things down.
I wasn’t sure it was actually @BenStiller that replied to me personally years ago when saying how much I love ‘Secret Life of Walter Mitty’, until I heard him say “thanks man” to Conan a couple weeks ago. My appreciation for that film and his subsequent works is undiminished.
@karolines_quill I almost exclusively read books that are a recommendation from a friend or someone that I know and trust their opinion. But even with that being said, I just like liking things. I tend to not be critical, probably to a fault.
@tormentalous Congrats! You’re one of the few accounts I still check pretty well daily. A glimmer of a redeeming virtue for this platform that has become a not so great place to be.
@JamesGunn@Superman But James, you’re Krypto, you’re the one bringing Superman home to what we’ve all been wanting for decades. I’ve watched dozens of reactions to this teaser and never seen more grown men moved to tears. Thanks for letting me be a kid again for a couple minutes.
@nealstephenson I just finished ‘Seveneves’ and quite enjoyed it, as someone who has been reading scifi for most of my life it’s great to discover another author that talks about big ideas and gives me something to think about. I look forward to reading more of your work.
@abobrow If it had been a potato debating that orange $#!/stain I’d vote for the potato. The current choice isn’t the best, but anything would be better than Cheeto Jesus.
