@julesbhrh Thank you, yep got him out yesterday and he’s on the mend. The crazy thing is some elements of his care in hospital were excellent but then that bit was terrible.
Sadly Lewis was taken into hospital the other day with ketones of 7. He’s ok now but the hospital are trying to give him lantus despite him having his pump.
@ShaunTheRam Thanks Shaun, not as bad as when Zoe found him unconscious last year but still a worry. If I weren't already folically challenged I would be tearing my hair out
@irenep671 When I got there a Diabetes Dr appeared and he was really good to be fair understood the pump etc.
It's a fragmented system here with community patients under one trust and the closest hospitals under two different trusts. You'd think though that being in hospital was safest 🙄
@mi_shmash I understand nurses and drs can’t know everything so they shouldn’t pretend that they do. Seem diabetologist now and he was thankfully clued up
@changeresearch Yes, spoken to his Dsn to call the hospital. Also Zoe is clinical lead for community diabetes in this area so no doubt she will be raising it more internally.
Really scary how little the staff know about diabetes.
@VickiaDSN@sotonDSN Nooooo! As soon as the youngest starts his A-levels next week at sixth form we're on countdown until the parents evening to invite him on the New York trip 💰💰💰
