It’s not free when you’re on it. Part B starts at $202. Then there are supplement plans to cover what B does not (prices vary) and there is a part D ( prescriptions) that is another fee. And you cannot opt out once you are 65 and if you don’t sign up on time there is a penalty added for the rest of your life on it. I don’t want Medicare when I am 65. I would rather be on a catastrophic type of insurance which no longer exists for those over 30 thanks to Obamacare.

Thank you! Even the naming of generations is meant to divide people. Boomers have the biggest year span of them (20 years). It was supposed to be the generation that was spawned from the 2 wars (WWII and Korean). Not sure how someone born in the 1960's is in that group and actually could have had a parent from the same generation?
