Thank you so much for all the love, solidarity and prayers. I am very well this morning! A little sore from the bruises and abrasions but more fired up to fearlessly serve the God who stands with the oppressed than before. (And chuffed with my stylish new glasses accessory!๐๐)
To all who've made a god unto themselves: "Do what you will to me! I serve a God who sits on the throne! He stands for justice! What we've seen today is not justice... So do what you will to me. I do not fear any one of you. I only fear God."
In His time, there WILL be justice.
And to all those who say that I am not Zimbabwean because of the colour of my skin, may you find healing for the hate in your hearts. I don't hate you back.
And I challenge you to a dance off!!!๐บ๐ Name the time and place. @AlickMacheso please provide the music.๐ถ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ค๐ค๐๐
This is Luckmore Tinashe Gapa; A ZanuPF central committee member who stole Doug Coltarts phone to prevent footage of Zanu's behaviour at the Constitutional Amendment parliamentary "consultation" going public. These are Mnangagwa's people
Please retweet and make this thug famous!
@Laque_davis What alternative are you proposing? Yes the system is flawed. Does that mean we just roll over and die and let them have their absolute power on a platter?
@adv_fulcrum Because to roll over and die achieves nothing. Of course the constitutional requirements arenโt satisfied through the town hall meetings alone. But you can guarantee that there will be no referendum if people just stay home and sit on their hands.
The problem with Constitutional Amendment No. 3 is that it grants the president excessive power and undermines key elements of our societyโ Bulawayo Mayor David Coltart
@ProfJNMoyo Any rational person can see that the presidential term-limits stipulated by the 2013 constitution is two 5-year terms, reading s91 and s95 together. That is manifestly what s328(7) has in its scope.
@ProfJNMoyo This is a very weak argument. Itโs the 2013 constitution that s328 regulates the amendment of. The fact that s95 bears similarities to provisions in previous iterations of the constitution is completely irrelevant.
@ProfJNMoyo@Dr_JAMavedzenge Haha, @ProfJNMoyo what are you even trying to do here? You know we can all Google the constitution & read it in plain English, right? I just did & youโre clearly talking nonsense. If you canโt fool a layman like me how do you expect to fool a legal academic? Don't do the debate!
We must take heed, is the thing. We must take heed lest we think we ever age out of foolishness or faithlessness. We donโt. Look at Solomon. Time doesnโt heal. Time tells. It tests. And tries.
Time can make us lazy. After all, whoโs watching anymore? It can make us meaner. Angrier. Harder headed. More bitter. More prideful. More selfish.
It can make us freak out. Fear that our lives will end without us ever feeling โaliveโ again, how ever we might define alive.
We have an opportunity here to examine our own lives and take heed lest we assume weโre beyond blowing them up sky high.
Can we finish well? Yes. Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, help me. This kind of thing scares the living daylights out of me. My story is not over and thereโs still time to be even more foolish in my future than Iโve been in my past. And thatโs saying something.
We CAN finish well. But it will not be accidental. It will not be incidental. It will take humility. It will take a radical mindset like that of the apostle Paul. He adopted one goal. One absolute pursuit. โThis one thing I do.โ All else was a far and distant second.
It will take everything weโve got. And the revelation will be that Jesus IS everything weโve got.
How I thank God for the cross of Christ. How I thank God for his grace. How I thank God that he loves Philip Yancey so much that he wanted him to finish well. To repent. To pivot. To love his wife and his family well. To love the Giver of eternal life well. Thank God, none of us can take that right from Philip. His public life may be over. Beyond repair in our eyes. His private life is not. Thatโs whatโs so amazing about grace.
Jesus, be with them.
Jesus, be with us all.
This is one of the songs in a new animated film coming out soon - DAVID - "Follow The Light" . It is going to be released in theaters worldwide on the 19th December.
What is truly amazing is that the animation film company which has produced this, Sunrise Productions, is run by a Zimbabwean Phil Cunningham.
Philโs father, brother and sister still live in @CityofBulawayo and Phil has close ties to our City.
As a City we are delighted by this amazing film and heartily congratulate Sunrise. We look forward to this becoming a blockbuster world wide.

I thought I had explained how we propose to deal with this but let me repeat. For us to achieve a long term solution to the sewage blockages we have to flush the system regularly. Sewage tends to build up when it isnโt accompanied by sufficient water; blockages then result. One can clear blockages by literally unblocking the system and clearing out the build up but the long term solution is to address the root cause - namely the paucity of water in the system. That requires the construction of additional dams and access to other water sources - and the upgrade of existing water delivery systems. I am not sure what is political about this response. This is the advice given me by water engineers both within @CityofBulawayo and independent engineers. None of them are politicians.
As to the โwhenโ - as soon as possible. I have been pushing hard (as is evident from nearly all my speeches and posts since my election 2 years ago) for the construction of Glassblock and the upgrade of our water delivery systems but these plans are subject to approval by Government, raising the necessary finance, concluding the necessary contracts and the construction process itself. I too am frustrated by the slow progress but as a ceremonial Mayor my powers are exceptionally limited.
Had a great interview today with @CityofBulawayo Mayor @DavidColtart. We discussed water issues, the utility company, the informal sector, business opportunities for diaspora community and investors, TTI & more. Catch it on The CITE View this Tuesday, April 8 on @citezw
