Until a few years ago, most men who needed radiation therapy for prostate cancer received 35-40 days of radiation, spread over 6-8 weeks. In 1999, Columbia scientists reasoned that most prostate cancers might respond to radiation differently than other cancers that grow faster.
Multiple clinical trials have been performed or are ongoing to test hypofractionated radiotherapy for prostate cancer, and the results have been consistent with the Columbia scientists’ predictions.
Santa Safety Alert!🎅 Before setting out the milk and cookies for Santa this year, Dr. Greg Berry, #ColumbiaPathology clinical microbiologist, warns that raw milk 🥛can harbor harmful bacteria, making the holidays much less jolly. https://t.co/a4f61QciFv #SantaSaysPasteurize
“Raw milk can contain harmful bacteria that can cause serious illnesses, which have been successfully avoided by pasteurization for over a century,” says @ColumbiaPath clinical microbiologist Gregory Berry, PhD, who argues the risks outweigh the benefits.
