A spectacular day at the Illinois Top Times state indoor meet this morning. Ethan Hogan won the 3200 in a meet record time of 9:00 and the 1600 in 4:17. Abby Venhaus took 2nd place in the Triple Jump and Christian Kronk finished 7th in the 60 Meter High Hurdles.

Congratulations to our two IHSA State medalists! Rand Mathews finished 4th in the state in the triple jump while Ethan Hogan finished 9th in the state in the 3200 meter run. A wonderful ending to a fantastic season!! Great job boys!!

Congratulations to Abby Venhaus who finished her season with a 4th place medal in the long jump and a 6th place medal in the triple jump at this weekend’s IHSA State Finals. Way to go Abby!!

For the first time in a long time, the Columbia Eagles Boys Track team has won the Cahokia Conference Championship. Despite those that tried to stand in our way, the boys won with integrity and a ton of hard work. Great job boys. You have a lot to be proud of.

Today was a banner day as two school records fell in convincing fashion. Ethan Hogan broke the 3200 meter record by 3 seconds with a time of 9:43.48. Then Rand Mathews broke the 200 meter record by .4 seconds with a time of 22.28 seconds. Congratulations boys!!

The Eagles boys track team had another successful weekend taking first place at the East Alton Wood River Invitational.

On the girls side, Abby Venhaus finished another clean sweep of her events winning the 100, 200, long jump and triple jump.

Congratulations to Abby Venhaus who took first place in all 4 of her events at the Greenville Invitational on Saturday. Abby won the Long Jump, Triple Jump, 100 meter dash and 200 meter dash. Incredible accomplishment Abby!!

Congratulations to the Eagles Boys Track team on an amazing first place finish at the Greenville Invitational on Saturday. Competing against 18 other teams from all around central and southern Illinois, the boys beat out second place Rochester by just 4.5 points. Great job boys!!

Congratulations to the following Eagles track athletes for qualifying for the Illinois Top Times Indoor Championship meet this weekend: Abby Venhaus, Rand Mathews, Jackson Judy and Christian Kronk. Abby finished in 4th in the long jump and Rand finished 5th in the triple jump.

The Eagles Boys Track team started off their track season at the Triad Indoor Invitational. They competed against some of the top teams in the area and brought home more than their fair share of hardware. Great job boys!!

The Columbia girls track team competed at the IHSA Sectionals at Salem today. Allie Fredenberg finished 3rd in the High Jump and Abby Venhaus finished 1st in the Long Jump, 100 meter dash and 200 meter dash! Abby qualified for the State Finals in all three events!

The Columbia Track & Field team will be holding an informational meeting for all students interested in participating in track & field this year. The meeting will be held in the high school cafeteria on Wednesday at 4:30 or live via Google Meets at https://t.co/CMBUYysXN6
