Mayor Ginther’s scandal to utilize McCoy Park as the new NWSL training facility came to light at last nights Columbus City Council meeting. Developments Director Mike Stevens and Recreation and Parks Director Bernita Reece were fully aware that McCoy Park redevelopment plans had been in the works for several years.
Regardless, they followed @MayorGinther marching orders and went along with the Haslam Sports Group negotiations to giveaway the 30-acre McCoy Park while never informing the Southeast Area Commission and Franklinton Community of this backroom scandal. The attached is my written testimony that was submitted to the city clerk and forwarded to City Council members:
🏁 Day 2 of #IAFFStrive.
Members stayed at it – building skills they’ll take back to the job.
The Fire Fighter Olympics took center stage, as competitors stepped up to a course built around real fire ground tasks.
Still more to come. 💪🔥
👉 Day 1 of #IAFFStrive.
Members got right to work with hands-on training and workshops focused on the challenges facing today’s fire service – from fire ground operations to health, safety, and leadership.
Back at it tomorrow. 🔥💪
The IAFF Strive for Excellence Summit is more than a training event.
It brings members together and prepares them for leadership on the fire ground and in the union hall.
Sharpen your skills, build your network, and raise the bar for your Local. 💪

Let’s not forget the 2024 $195,000 settlement paid out to one of @MayorGinther executive assistants who was illegally forced to work on his 2023 mayoral campaign. And because she blew the whistle on him, he of course ran her out of city hall. Just another one of cowardly Andy’s finest moments in his long corrupt political career.
