Marking a queen 🐝👑 a few weeks ago we had a swarm from Hive A. We have a new queen that needed to be marked . Doing this makes it easier for us to find her in the colony , especially in a hive packed with bees 🔎

A busy morning checking our garden and the bees 🐝 Hive A has around 50,000 bees now and we have added 2 supers to start making honey 🍯 we will hopefully have some to try for school starting back in August 🥳

If you are walking on the path beside the school and see our bees hanging out on the side of the hive like this don’t be alarmed! They are just enjoying the sun like we are .
In the hot weather some bees come outside the hive to cool down and make sure inside doesn’t overheat 🐝
