@Ardoramdonua So, in my town growing up it certainly was a thing both from a Catholic and a I can afford x children in an expensive town. As I know that my parents couldn’t have more kids it certainly bothered them that families they knew had this view without knowing full situations.
I have considered it before; I just don't know about wearing the pin every day, and I am not sure where to put it on a t-shirt. I think, though, I could probably look at offering it more than I do – for sure.
I have a lot of family members who took the pledge at their confirmation, only a few who maintained it their whole life. My grandparents took the pledge and didn't have alcohol until their 30s after they had moved to the US.
7 Years Ago, My Life Changed
I decided I would not drink alcohol that day.
2555 Days later, I have not had a drink.
It is excellent to hit another year of sobriety; I know it could change tomorrow, but that is why, seven years later, the goal is still just for today.
"You can't get drunk if you don't have one drink."
It was said to me at my first meeting, and it hit me; before that, I was convinced it was number 3/4 that did me in.
My life got exponentially better, but not always easier.
I try to thank God every day for my sobriety.
