This thread has a lot of ideas in it that I agree with. Two specific sources of startup ideas:
1. What could you build that will enable asynchronous work?
2. Now that productivity will be measured less by hours worked, how will it be measured?
@bodagetta @AF_SBIR_STTR @reisystemsinc @dodsbir @sbirgov Update: able to log in after dozens of attempts and actions... Website still won't consistently allow PDF uploads and slow to load among other issues - but at least we're in!
@fieldandflowers @AF_SBIR_STTR What did you do to get in? Seems there was a window of access around 0230 ET... https://t.co/I89270dsmh works, https://t.co/aFu7p8Uwl4 / @REI_Systems must have some sort of bottleneck.
@AF_SBIR_STTR Hello - The portal was under maintenance over the weekend, and it appears inaccessible since around noon today. Any chance this will be extended further? Visiting DSIP for further details is not possible because it won't load...
Want to see the true potential impact of ignoring social distancing? Through a partnership with @xmodesocial, we analyzed secondary locations of anonymized mobile devices that were active at a single Ft. Lauderdale beach during spring break. This is where they went across the US:
@Expedia thanks so much for your help today. Totally understand the wait, can't imagine how busy your associates must be. And yet, the gentleman in your side was very professional, and even helped get a refund that wasn't expected. Best part was the amazing playlist on hold!!!
@AFWERX@usairforce@AFResearchLab @AF_SBIR_STTR @dodsbir @armyfutures @NavalAgility @NGA_GEOINT@NSIN_us We're thrilled to be participating and presenting in both events. Fantastic initiatives for startups like ours to deliver new warfighter capabilities, complementing our commercial efforts. Check out https://t.co/wvHwt0GPL2 for the AFWERX video of what we're pitching!
@paulg: simple advice, challenging execution. There are layers to offering things or services people "want" vs "buy". On #2, it's a thin line between spending and investing, and it's not always a straight line. Finally, start-up death is ambiguous - stagnation is bad too.
The #1 cause of startup death is making something no one wants. The #2 cause is spending too much. Those two account for so many deaths that I'm not even sure what #3 is.
If you merely make something people want and don't spend too much, you're way ahead.
It just makes economic inequality more persistent if, while rich kids are being taught the recipe for wealth,
