We are out campaigning across the country against Carney's war economy.
For real action on jobs & sovereignty, the funds allocated for massive military spending must be converted into social spending.

📌Statement of TKP CC regarding the anti-NATO protests on 5 July:
We have said it before: opposing NATO is not a crime—it is a responsibility. Yet the AKP government is attempting to criminalize protests against NATO at a time when the massacre in Palestine continues, when it remains uncertain how far U.S.-Israeli aggression against Iran will escalate, and when the war in Ukraine threatens to expand even further.
We also made it clear that we would not accept this. NATO—one of the forces behind coups, political assassinations, massacres, and occupations—cannot be whitewashed by ministerial orders or governor's decrees. Humanity will not allow it, and historical truth cannot be rewritten in this way.
Until very recently, government officials and their supporters blamed NATO and the Western imperialist countries for the attempted coup of July 15, 2016, proudly declaring that "this is no longer the old Turkey." Now, invoking the very same slogan, they are trying to intimidate the country's working class patriots, revolutionaries, and communists by brandishing the NATO flag.
Nothing has changed on the side of the rules of this system since Turkey joined NATO in 1952. While wrapping themselves in patriotic rhetoric, they have never abandoned their ambition of becoming a regional power by aligning themselves with the imperialist countries, above all the United States. Nor have we ever abandoned our struggle against imperialism and all of its institutions, foremost among them NATO. We stood against the U.S. Sixth Fleet; we stood against foreign military bases; we stood against occupations in our region; we stood against war. And we will continue to do so.
As the NATO Summit approaches, everyone who has refused to accept the arrogance, repression, and disgrace on display—everyone who has spoken out and taken action, regardless of party, organization, or political affiliation—has torn away the label of "collective collaboration" that is being imposed on Turkey.
The broad support for the TKP demonstration held yesterday in Ankara's Kızılay Square under the slogan "Standing against NATO is a duty" is proof that, despite all the government's efforts, Turkey's anti-imperialist tradition remain alive.
But the struggle continues, and we must recognize that victory is still a long way off. We cannot be satisfied simply because several thousand people took part in protests in a country of 85 million, or because we once again proved that we would not submit to bans and repression. Not when every bourgeois party is working to legitimize NATO, and generations have been taught the falsehood that NATO guarantees Turkey's security.
We are leaving our mark on history—but our real task is to change its course. We will continue our struggle until Turkey is liberated from imperialism, multinational monopolies, and exploitation.
We demand the immediate release of the 145 TKP members detained in Ankara, Kocaeli, and Soma. We reiterate the same demand for all revolutionaries who have been detained or imprisoned for opposing NATO.
It is not a crime to say "No to NATO." The real crime is supporting NATO. Let no one forget it.
We wish a speedy recovery to all our comrades injured by police violence, and we thank all our friends and allies who have stood in solidarity with us.

Instead of choosing between Trump's tariffs and mass layoffs, OR submission to corporate free trade and mass layoffs, we must fight for sovereignty, peace and expanding public ownership.
That means getting out of USMCA now!

“While he said Cubans fear the prospect of U.S military aggression, Fonseca also said they will resist whatever pressures are brought to bear upon them by the Americans.
‘The Cuban people value their sovereignty and they will defend it,’ he said.” https://t.co/oiK60X39xC
Pride is rooted in resistance to oppression, not a corporate parade.
We stand against the far-right attacks on trans people and public education. We fight against capitalism's patriarchal agenda that oppresses queer and trans people.

Pinning Canada's economic hopes on the USMCA review is a recipe for more disaster for working people - instead of an extension, we need to get out of USMCA now! #canlab#cdnpoli

“And when life for the people becomes so difficult, the primary duty of the Communist Party and the revolutionary government is not to explain the crisis better, but to change whatever needs to be changed to overcome it.” https://t.co/0jazqs1nAm
This exchange makes it clear that the Carney government's deafening silence on Cuba is becoming complicity in Trump's economic war and military invasion threats.
A tortured answer to a simple question: What is the immediate cause for the most serious humanitarian crisis facing Cuba today?
Shame on the government for making officials mouth such invidious nonsense.
Today we salute the great revolutionary and Communist, Raul Castro, on his 95th birthday.
To honour his revolutionary legacy and ongoing struggle, we will redouble our efforts to build solidarity with the Cuban Revolution in the face of deepening imperialist aggression.

“In a way, watching what’s going on in Cuba should give the Government of Canada considerable pause and even raise alarm bells because it demonstrates what this current U.S. government is capable of doing. Cuba is a bit of a canary in the coal mines.” https://t.co/9pRhw7fM3S
