���️ At the Fifth Summit of the Crimea Platform, a video was presented to highlight the grim reality of life in occupied Crimea and to expose Russia’s ongoing crimes. It recalled how, in 2014, the Russian Federation violated the UN Charter by seizing the peninsula and later used it as a springboard for the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022. The video described the militarization of Crimea, severe environmental damage, destruction of cultural heritage, persecution of Ukrainian citizens, the abduction and indoctrination of children, and the suppression of fundamental freedoms – painting a clear picture of the hardships endured by people living under occupation.

⚡️ At the same time, the video underscored the resilience of people living in occupied Crimea, who continue to resist daily and proclaim that "Crimea is Ukraine". It also pointed to the international community’s consistent support, reflected in more than twenty UN General Assembly resolutions condemning Russia’s actions, as well as the creation and work of the International Crimea Platform. Through International Summits at the Heads of State level, Parliamentary Summits, and expert Forums, this format has consolidated global efforts to achieve the de-occupation of Crimea.

❗️ The video further emphasized ongoing initiatives to free the citizens of Ukraine from unlawful Russian captivity and to defend the rights of Indigenous peoples, including the recognition of the 1944 deportation of Crimean Tatars as an act of genocide. It concluded with a call for a just and lasting peace based on the UN Charter and international law – a peace that would serve as the best way to honor the 80th anniversary of the United Nations.
