@rainy101 Along with Americans complaining about British food they've never even eaten and people with football related photos on their bios, Oasis fans are some of the most irritating people on Twitter.
the man in this photo, A’ed Abo Amro, was sniped by the IDF only a month after this photo went viral because he became a symbol of the resistance. never forget that ahed tamimi, plestia and every palestinian standing up publicly against israel are true heroes at risk
Concern has been expressed about a tweet issued by 'For Women Scotland' on 22 June 2024 and re-tweeted by J.K. Rowling. The tweet reproduces an unofficial summary of Communist Party policy, namely that:
"We [the CP] oppose all forms of conversion therapy applied to lesbian and gay people and we oppose including trans identities in such a ban."
The Communist Party does indeed oppose all forms of conversion therapy applied to lesbian and gay people. We also support banning regressive conversion therapy targeting trans people.
For the avoidance of doubt, the Communist Party supports the right of trans people to medically transition, to have access to healthcare and live equal, full and meaningful lives, socially, economically and politically. We believe that such liberation will only be possible under socialism.
Wherever possible, corrections to this effect have been sought where this inaccuracy has been reproduced.
Where do the parties stand on humanist issues? ✅❌❔
Drawing from Manifestos and our latest correspondence with party officials, we've compiled the seven largest parties' positions on nine of the priority issues we're campaigning on at this election
Lots of support for tactical voting. We can see where votes are moving in the polls. But some well meaning people are posting advice based on crow's entrails. Things like polling report are useless. Electoral Calculus is good, but it's not for this. Use https://t.co/Hl7S4aH8iV
We've voiced concern over the growing influence of American Christian fundamentalist 'dark money' being used to undermine LGBT rights globally at the @UN_HRC. Religious attitudes must not be used to justify human rights violations. https://t.co/9rGQASCDK8
A little fact for you: it was #OnThisDay, 1978 that the rainbow flag representing gay pride was flown for the first time during the San Francisco Gay Freedom Day Parade. 🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈

"Animal Farm is not a book about how pigs - animals - when bestowed with power start to behave like men. It is a book about how men, when given power over other men, start to behave like pigs.”

#PostOfficeScandal Today everyone in the United Kingdom and beyond should tune in to watch📺 @PostOffInquiry to watch the arrogant & self serving account of George Thomson who is the former General Secretary of @NFSP_UK
The organisation is a sham and it is time it is fully disbanded and consigned to the history books. Ask the current NFSP which side of court they sat on during the High Court litigation, they haven’t changed. Useless, out of touch and have no interest in the concerns of Postmasters up and down the country. They have contributed to the demise of the network and why it is where it is today.
“When I took over my branch in 2006 I was approached to join the NFSP. After doing my own research (and having prior worked in the branch so had some knowledge of the NFSP) I could already see they had very little benefit to SPMR's because they would rarely if at all stand up to the PO and almost every year they managed to negotiate a pay cut for their members. They would argue that it is either accept a reduced commission for a product/service or lose the contract altogether and I knew at that point they were what I called a spineless organisation which didn't have the ability to stand up for its members. How right I was from what we know today from those members who approached them for help at a time of desperation, as they believed they would be supported and the NFSP threw them to the wolves and just let them drown. They were far too interested in their own self importance (especially Thomson) and feared the damage to the PO name/brand and the impact on winning future contracts with external customers which would in itself cause damage to their individual officers and they let that completely blind them from what was actually going on. They never asked the right questions, they never pushed hard enough, they should have been demanding from the PO and also Fujitsu concrete evidence that Horizon was working as it should in the disputed cases brought before them but that just did not happen. Thomson then signed a deal with the PO called Network Transformation which was said to be 'signed in blood' with then CEO Paula Vennell's in return for ensuring the NFSP survived and was to now be directly in the pocket of the PO. This led to what we see now of tens of millions of pounds of the fixed pay elements removed from Postmasters remuneration and why it leaves many financially unviable. Both the NFSP and PO said how much of a success NT was because it returned the PO back to profitability, this was in fact only achieved by the cost cutting of Postmaster remuneration and therefore huge cost savings for the PO, it did not come from product and service growth. And this was all the doings of no one other than Thomson and Vennell's.
Thomson has very serious questions to answer of why he and his organisation let down so many SPMR's and allowed them to be wrongfully prosecuted, some to end up in prison and sadly people taking their own lives. He and his organisation failed it is main overarching duty to protect its members. They are a disgrace and have no place today to be trying to represent the interests of current Postmasters, they are a sham. As for current CEO Calum Greenhow saying the NFSP of today is very different, is complete nonsense. He also spoke at the Select Committee back in 2015 where he said if he had opted for the PO local model under the NT program it would have been "financial suicide" for him and his wife. Well if it is financial suicide for you why was it ok for all your members? The NFSP should be completely disbanded, their insurance policy used to fully reimburse any membership fees paid over the years and Postmasters should be able to choose fully independent representation however that should materialise.

If you didn’t listen to #PostOffice inquiry today - here’s a wrap from a day a former sub-postmistress says “adds insult to injury”, and a lawyer for victims calls a “flat-earther defence” + an interview with former sub-postmaster Nitin Pandit.
🔺George Thomson was general sec of the National Federation of Sub-Postmasters and told the inquiry the Horizon IT system is still "very robust".
🔺He said "the Horizon system is not the scandal, the Post Office stupidity on steroids handling of the situation is the scandal."
🔺He said he was furious at PO's "shenanigans" and for not telling him about bugs in the system + remote access
🔺But he also criticised Sir Alan Bates, the JFSA + the BBC and other media for in his words “painting Horizon as not fit for purpose.”
Former sub-postmasters I've spoken to are shocked, and of course angry. @chrish9070 told me Mr Thomson's views are "nothing short of abhorrent".
🚨 Nigel Farage claims to be a man of the people but his views on women reveal who he really is.
🤬 From supporting misogynist Andrew Tate to saying women are worth less than men in the workplace - Farage’s views are outdated and offensive.
