Great group session led @ComfyMentor today, along with a group of #audiobooknarrators who I really admire. Just as valuable as honing your craft with equipment and coaching, is keeping your mind right. Today felt wonderful and much needed in that respect!
Soooo I don't post much to twitter because most of my posts are pictures. Follow me on IG at ComfyMentor for tips for writers, narrators, producers, and creatives in creating a work/life that is fulfilling and balanced.
If we tried to do all the things others are doing, there would be no sleep, no quality of life, just work work work. Focus on what you can do. Mindfully create attainable goals. You are moving forward, at your own pace. #ComfyMentor#Writer#narrator#Entrepreneur#Audiobooks
I didn’t want to walk today. I wanted to eat a burrito. But I did walk, & it occurred to me that I haven’t really heard someone say they regretted a walk, unless there were snakes, or they got lost, or there were marauders. Make space to do things for your body. I took the walk.
Today, I’ll buy myself some flowers to brighten my space. It’s weirdly comforting, to look at something so beautiful. And it’s something I choose to bring into my life.
I’m finding that doing little things like this for myself (soft things, kind things, loving things) helps to round out the edges of stressful days when I’m working, asking for work, worrying about work, etc.
When you are stressed, your body floods with cortisol, that hormone that puts your body into a fight or flight mode. This means your brain and body are hyper focused and on red alert.
