@Eon1Eno@MrGabeHernandez Huh, it's almost like they are trying to predict what movies people will like and working on building a universe through cohesive storytelling... Imagine that. Lol
Especially when it released. Eternals should have gotten a Disney+ show if anything.
@Eon1Eno@MrGabeHernandez Yeah, because Supergirl is a massively risky movie after a successful Superman movie ๐.
For GotG they had a good idea for a movie with those characters & it worked.
They were planning on a gamble with the Authority, but didn't move forward because they couldn't get it right.
@Eon1Eno@MrGabeHernandez They just did Wonder Woman and there are other projects in development for her. They are focusing Superman for the first few movies in this new universe, which if you are building a DC Universe, makes a lot of sense.
@Eon1Eno@MrGabeHernandez You've lost the plot. The metaphor barely worked before. This is a movie for a global audience. You think movies like Guardians of the galaxy were greenlit because of Market research and the overwhelming popularity of the characters? Lol
@Eon1Eno@MrGabeHernandez You're right, you wouldn't open a restaurant based off of the taste of a really small sample of people. You open a restaurant because you know you have good food. Lol
So don't make choices for movies based on comic sales, make choices based on what would make a good story/movie
@Itssan17 This is a terribly misinformed critique of this stories subject matter. If you think this movie is going to be a happy, joke filled, Guardians Style film then you have no idea what you are talking about, and your opinion is informed only by the trailer's soundtrack.
@BurnerJones7711@MrGabeHernandez I mean, do you think these studios consider comic sales number as any significant factor when deciding to make these movies? The numbers are so small in comparison to what ticket sales would be and don't translate anyway. Lol Name a more popular Supergirl story to adapt instead
@DMacyBeckwith@MrGabeHernandez Yeah, it is the inspiration, but in space, and it definitely manages to tell its own story, the comic at least. I obviously don't know how the movie has been adapted yet.
@SirBylHolte As another person who has not seen the movie, like yourself, I'm only able to say so much. Much. But as someone who has read the material that the movie is based on, I believe there's a lot that you don't have right.
@MrGabeHernandez I mean, if that's how you want to view a flawed character choosing to be heroic despite all of the terrible things that happened to them, then like you said, agree to disagree.
