@MakumanCOMM3724 Poor lady...💔 that’s heartbreaking. Kids are deprived of their right to safe, by the same people who are supposed to protect & keep them safe on because they are in need.
In my research I read somewhere that poverty also contributes to most girls becoming sex workers.
I think it’s incompetence more than anything, from both the government and the people. With the resources we have we should be doing way better economically.
“...the profound impact of poverty on a young child’s right to survival and physical well-being are poverty’s effects on the child’s rights to psychological, emotional and spiritual development.”
Poverty can be defined as a condition or state in which a person or community that does not have enough material possessions or income and essentials for a minimum standard of living.
@MokgatlComm3724 This is heartbreaking. I spent most of the lockdown in GP and kids there were actively going to school after restrictions were reduced. Then when I got back home FS kids were playing in the streets everyday, even till now some don’t go to school.
On the 7th of July 2020 a story was published of how a child from the KZN (Grade 7 - 12 years) was sent back home which is a 7 km walk from school because she forgot her mask. So on her way back home to fetch the mask, she was raped only because of a mask.
How can a child be sent back home to fetch a mask when Angie Motshekga promised parents that there will be resources in place to prevent the infection of the virus, yet a kid got raped just after a month of reopening schools.
