@NgqazoC How can you inform/educate people from rural areas about the dangers of HIV/AIDS?
Also not every person has access to the internet in rural areas, how can you make sure that the message gets across?
Environmental factors and social stressors can have an effect of Mandrax addiction. Some of contributing factors can include:
Using an addictive substance at a young age, mental disorders such as depression or anxiety and social or peer pressure.
@MofokengCOMM373 Mandrax is the second used substance in SA. It is also contributing in the South African crime. People need to be informed/educated about the dangers of Madrax addiction.
@TelekoComm3724 Research shows that even adults use Mandrax. I would give people who were once addicted to Mandrax or were affected an opportunity to tell their stories. I think most people believe real life stories compared to when you tell them about statistics.
@Comm3724KhobokT @anchor Drugs are bad, we all know that. In some instances the doctor will have to prescribe it because you really need it. It become dangerous when you are now dependent on it.
South Africa is the largest abuser of Mandrax in the world. Statistics show that Mandrax with Dagga is still the drug of preference in the largest parts of South Africa. Mandrax is mainly sold in the form of a tablet and is highly addictive.
The banning of Mandrax caused crime syndicates to use this opportunity to continue producing it by means of clandestine laboratories. The market was already established and the need for the drug made it a profitable business.
Mandrax had various side effects, especially if it was used with Dagga and alcohol, which was life threatening because it caused psychological and physical dependency. This caused a drastic increase in burglaries, especially at pharmacies.
There is a lack of education regarding Alcohol Abuse in my community. As a result, the people in need of help are ridiculed and judged for abusing alcohol. This ignorance has resulted in an increase of alcohol abuse cases.
