🚨 SECURITY ADVISORY
HEIGHTENED VIGILANCE FOLLOWING RECENT NATIONAL SECURITY ALERT

Dear Community Shielders, Community Stakeholders & Volunteers,

Following recent security intelligence and a nationwide alert issued by the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) in a communication dated 13 September 2026, concerning possible coordinated attacks targeting vulnerable locations, including places of worship, educational institutions, NYSC orientation camps and other public facilities, Community Shield advises all residents and estate security teams to maintain heightened vigilance.

This advisory is preventive in nature. Residents are encouraged to remain calm while taking reasonable security precautions.

🔐 IMMEDIATE SECURITY MEASURES

1️⃣ Strengthen Access Control
• Verify all visitors before granting access.
• Do not allow unknown persons to gain entry by following another vehicle through the gate.
• Ensure domestic staff, contractors, vendors and service providers are properly identified and verified.
• Report any attempt to bypass established access-control procedures.

2️⃣ Be Alert to Suspicious Activity

Promptly report:
• Unfamiliar persons loitering within or around the community.
• Suspicious vehicles or motorcycles.
• Unusual photography or surveillance around gates, schools, religious centres or other facilities.
• Abandoned bags, packages or objects.
• Unusual movements or activities around vulnerable locations.

3️⃣ Strengthen Gate & Perimeter Security

Estate/community security teams should ensure that:
• CCTV systems are operational and monitored.
• Gates and access points are properly controlled.
• Visitor records are accurately maintained.
• Security personnel remain alert, particularly during periods of high movement.
• Emergency contact numbers are readily available.

4️⃣ Strengthen Community Communication

Communities should maintain access to approved emergency communication channels and promptly report credible security concerns to community/estate management and security personnel.

Where Community Shield is deployed, residents are encouraged to ensure that their access and emergency/ICE contact information are active and up to date.

5️⃣ Avoid Unverified Information

Please do not circulate unverified security rumours, videos, voice notes or messages that may create unnecessary panic.

Rely on information from credible security authorities, estate management and verified community communication channels.

👮 FOR ESTATE SECURITY TEAMS

Increase vigilance around:

• Main and secondary gates
• Perimeter boundaries
• Parking areas
• Children's play areas
• Schools and educational facilities
• Places of worship
• Estate service areas
• Other locations with significant pedestrian or vehicular activity

Any suspicious activity should be documented and escalated through the appropriate security and emergency channels.

⚠️ IMPORTANT

Do not confront or attempt to apprehend suspicious individuals unless properly trained and authorised to do so.

Where an immediate threat exists, prioritize personal safety, move to a secure location and contact the appropriate security or emergency authorities.

🛡️ SECURITY IS EVERYONE'S RESPONSIBILITY

A secure community is built through vigilance, technology, communication and collective responsibility.

Community Shield remains committed to supporting safer, better-connected communities through coordinated security awareness, communication and emergency response.

Stay calm. Stay alert. Verify before granting access. Report suspicious activity.

This message is brought to you by COMMUNITY SHIELD.
