The bronze statue of the late Col. Yonatan “Yoni” Netanyahu unveiled today at the Old Terminal, Entebbe.

Erected at the exact spot he fell during Operation Entebbe, July 4, 1976 — honouring the sole Israeli commando fatality of the historic hostage rescue mission.

A symbol of Uganda-Israel ties and shared counter-terrorism history. 🇺🇬🇮🇱

The monument honours his service during Operation Entebbe.

Col. Yonatan “Yoni” Netanyahu was the older brother of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Speaking at the closing of the 3-day Extraordinary Summit of TCCs to AUSSOM — Uganda, Ethiopia, Kenya, Djibouti, Egypt & Burundi — the President said intervention rests on two pillars: rejecting religious extremism and showing solidarity against shared threats.
