@kreyzytalk@mariadizix You picked like the 4 roughest looking dudes in hockey. Most NHL players are very normal, average looking guys. Some are also very good looking. I can cherry pick pics of players too.
@Revicammer@gilbert_ty61348@RobertS42139212@MarioLeGoat Most goalies tuck their chest protector into their pants. Doesn't make it illegal equipment not to, but it does make the front of you look a lot bigger.
As well, there are different styles of chesty, and as well different padding customizations and configurations with the straps
Immediate thoughts on the Bruins playoff elimination:
Obviously gutted for both the players and coaches. This team achieved a helluva lot more this season than most people expected, and there were plenty of bright spots.
Swayman returning to elite goaltender form. Geekie putting up another historic season. Zacha notching 30 goals, and Arvidsson with 25. Minten and Khusnutdinov broke out, each having a significant impact on the team this year. Team defense was solid with McAvoy, Lindholm, and Zadorov leading the charge, with good contributions from Aspirot, Lohrei, and Peeke.
Oh, and Pastrnak had 100+ points again.
Sturm had a clear message and vision for the team, and I would argue that it worked for the best. He got the best out of this team in just his first year on the job.
While it's unfortunate to lose in round one again, especially with some very unfortunate performances, I don't think we can be too upset given how we expected this team to perform at the beginning of the season.
There are players whom the Bruins should look to add (and move off from), but we have the cap space to do so and the young talent (Hagens, Minten, Khusy, and others) to have a strong youth movement going forward.
This year showed us a lot of good, and hopefully, we can build upon that next season.
2025/26 was a lot of fun, and I can't wait for next season.

@J_Bought@BruinsDiehards The average age on both teams is 27yo. The Bruins are a team whose roster changed almost entirely in the off-season and have several young guys with no playoff experience. You're acting like Buffalo doesn't have veteran players and is only made of kids born in the 2000s.
I went to an antique store and spent $10 on a box of 400 NHL goalie cards
I sorted them by goalie and eventually am going to go through and look up each individual card. Some were already in sleeves. A lot of these cards are from the 90s and early 2000s. So much fun.
@Sasha_Squid@mackwinged Yes, it is great. I also hate seeing people believe so strongly that they could never do a sport like hockey, when there has never been a better time to get involved. My coed league of novice adults in Maine has grown to over 150 players, men and women learning to play together.
@mackwinged@Sasha_Squid There are certain frames you can get that are closer to the face that are more comfortable under a helmet. For example, there is this style. They look more like safety glasses, but can be made prescription.

@mackwinged@Sasha_Squid You 100% can play with glasses under a cage. It will take some experimenting to make it comfortable enough to play in, but I have a handful in my league who play with glasses on.
