As a reminder, the Commanders technically haven't announced their initial roster yet, and there will be changes coming. Tunsil and Newton aren't on IR yet (as they are likely to be) and there are currently on 3 CBs on the active. So, sit tight over the next day or so

One name I REALLY think the Commanders need to be watching over the next 24-48 hours:

Texans C Jake Andrews.

Andrews is only 26 and started all 16 games for Houston last season.

1,093 snaps
67.2 pass-blocking grade
14 pressures allowed
Just ONE sack allowed

Is he an elite Center? No. But that’s not what Washington needs right now.

They need someone with actual starting experience who can come in and give them some insurance behind Nick Allegretti. Especially with Allegretti barely practicing this summer and the depth behind him being extremely thin.

Here’s where it gets interesting…

Houston looks like they might CUT Andrews. Evan Brown has taken over at Center and they have Keylan Rutledge who can play there too. Andrews only played 5 snaps in their preseason finale.

So AP could either wait and see if he gets released OR call Houston now and offer something small to make sure nobody else gets him.

A 26-year-old Center who started an entire season and allowed ONE sack?
