He’s facing multiple accounts of Attempted Murder as well as Assault with Extreme Indifference and POWPO (Possession of a Weapon by a Previous Offender) charges for being a convicted felon with a gun.
ARREST MADE IN SHOOTING THAT CRITICALLY WOUNDED INNOCENT BYSTANDER:
19-year-old Jeremiah Tyrae Herrera is under arrest for yesterday’s shooting at 60th and Monaco that critically injured an 86-year-old woman who was caught in crossfire while simply in her car.
Herrera is accused of firing shots at two individuals across the street and inadvertently striking the victim instead.
After a meticulous search yesterday, we located and arrested Herrera. His victim is fortunately expected to survive her injuries.
The victim was in her car at the intersection when shots were fired, and she was transported to the hospital for treatment.
We are working tirelessly to locate the suspect(s). A “shelter in place” order has been issued for the immediate area. Please continue to stay inside.

Our officers have flooded the area around 60th and Monaco, searching for the individuals involved in a shooting that injured an 86-year-old woman who appears to have been an innocent bystander.
We’re working a car vs motorcycle crash at E 72nd Ave and Magnolia.
The motorcycle rider was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

After thorough investigative work by our detectives, the suspicious death from overnight yesterday in which a 23-year-old woman was found in the 6200 block of Glencoe Street with apparent head trauma is now being investigated as a potential suicide.
