WATCH: Russian soldiers fire MANPADS from a highway near civilian cars.
They thought Kyiv would fall in 72 hours. Four years later, they’re firing missiles from highways to protect Moscow from Ukrainian drones.
Ukraine is winning🇺🇦👊
ABC News' Jonathan Karl reports from the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool where workers continue to battle algae – and the new paint job appears to be falling apart.

Former US Ambassador to Ukraine about her resignation:
"I cannot stand by while a country is invaded, a democracy bombarded, and children killed with impunity.
The America I love, the one our grandparents served, would never stand by and let such horrors happen. Or give up helping our friends. Or appease the aggressor.
I resigned ... because the policy was to put pressure on the victim Ukraine, rather than on the aggressor, Russia"

Today we honored Paul Robbins, a 101-year-old World War II veteran believed to be the last living plank owner of Battleship New Jersey. Today he returned to the ship he reported aboard in 1943, and at the close of the ceremony, Paul cast a memorial wreath into the Delaware to honor those who never came home. We are grateful he was with us today.

Paul Skenes was driving down Perry Highway in Wexford just past seven o’clock Monday night when the Pirates superstar pitcher made a pit stop. It was a Little League field.
Skenes signed autographs for over two hours, connecting with Pittsburgh's next generation.

BREAKING: The House passed a measure to provide almost $2 billion in aid to Ukraine and impose new sanctions against Russia on Thursday, sending the measure to the Senate behind a 226-to-195 tally — despite GOP leadership in full opposition to the measure.

Bush’s rescue by the USS Finback in September 1944 was captured on film.
He would remain on the sub for around 30 days, standing watch and assisting with rescue operations, before disembarking at Midway.
Our 41st President, America 🫡🇺🇸
There’s a quiet all out war for the future of our country. Let us not misdirect our precious resources.
I do not believe I lost due to fraudulent votes, mail-in ballots, hacking, or mistabulated results. I respect those who want to make sure, but I won’t be requesting a recount.
A nearly $1.8 billion DOJ-controlled fund cannot be created, defined, and distributed in the shadows.
Today, I called on Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche to provide immediate transparency on the Department’s newly announced “Anti-Weaponization Fund.”
By June 1, DOJ must answer three basic questions:
Where is the money coming from?
Who is eligible to receive it?
And under what legal authority is DOJ creating a discretionary compensation fund of this scale without explicit congressional authorization, court approval, or judicial oversight?
Taxpayer dollars will not be turned into a discretionary payout fund.
Transparency is not optional. Accountability is not negotiable.
@kaitlancollins and I discussed this tonight @TheSourceCNN ⬇️
When politics becomes more about protecting safe seats than serving the country, the American people lose.
This morning, I joined @margbrennan on @FaceTheNation with my @ProbSolveCaucus Co-Chair, @RepTomSuozzi, to talk about a better way forward: focusing like a laser on the cost of living, confronting a broken redistricting system that rewards division, and standing with Ukraine as it fights for freedom.
Too much of Washington is designed to divide us. Our duty is bigger than the politics of the moment: to serve 100% of the people we represent, bring both parties to the table, and prove that common ground is still where real progress always begins.

Thousands will pay tribute to the late Johnny & Matty Gaudreau Sat. at a benefit 5K at Washington Lake Park in South Jersey. There are many races and fun (free) things for the kids. Jane Gaudreau says she wants people to never forget her sons. They won’t.
The only reason a parade was held in Moscow and we didn’t kill all the freaks who were on Red Square is because of Trump’s guarantee of a prisoner exchange. We value the lives of our Ukrainians above all else. But the exchange is in jeopardy because Putin stated:
“On the eve of Victory Day, Kyiv made it clear that it is not ready for a prisoner exchange. No new proposals have been received.”
Zelenskyy responded immediately:
“The prisoner exchange – 1,000 for 1,000 – is being prepared and must take place. The Americans assumed responsibility for these guarantees. Ukraine’s Coordination Headquarters has handed over the lists for one thousand POWs to the Russian side . There was American mediation in reaching this arrangement on the exchange, and accordingly, we expect the American side to play an active role in ensuring it’s fulfilled.”
Trump must keep his promise and ensure this exchange. If the Ukrainians do not return home, there will be no point in us paying any further attention to the White House.
"For two hours, she recounted in unflinching details the horrors of the camp. She detailed everything she had seen in Auschwitz- the fate of babies, the fate of children, the fate of women. She spoke of sexual violence. And she was determined to restore names to those who had been reduced to numbers and then to ash."

In 1941, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was still dominated by its industrial core, particularly the mill district along the rivers, which had shaped the city for decades.
This area, primarily along the Monongahela, Allegheny, and Ohio rivers, was packed with steel mills, foundries, and related industrial facilities. The district was a hub of activity, with massive smokestacks, rail lines, and river docks supporting the movement of raw materials like iron ore and coal into the mills and finished steel products out to the nation.
Workers’ housing, small shops, and ethnic neighborhoods surrounded the mills, reflecting the diverse immigrant populations drawn to Pittsburgh’s steel economy. Despite the ongoing global conflict of WW2, the mills were operating at high capacity, producing steel critical to the war effort. The city’s skyline was often obscured by smoke and steam, a symbol of Pittsburgh’s identity as the heart of America’s steel industry.
🙏 Thank you, @RepDonBacon, your words moved hearts, and your leadership moves mountains!
@RepDonBacon said it clearly:
💬 "This is a fight of evil versus good. And America's gotta stand on the right side."
@RepDonBacon is pushing the discharge petition to force a floor vote on sanctions against Russia and renewed military aid to Ukraine, and they are ONE signature away.
📢 Tell Congress: Keep the pressure on Russia. Don't let sanctions weaken now.

The Steelers got a kid with Christian McCaffrey measurables. In the 7th round. With the heart of a champion. With unmatched work ethic. From tests of hard work at the Naval Academy. And he’s a Yinzer! What a pick!
