While it was evident to most people a few weeks ago, after counting many absentee ballots, today it became mathematically certain @leemzeldin won re-election to Congress. Suffolk BOE expects to certify the race very soon-- showing Congressman Zeldin won by 40k+ votes.
Suffolk BOE will be closed on Monday for cleaning and employee rapid-testing following an Election Worker’s COVID-19 positive test. We’ll be back to counting the remainder of 175,000 paper ballots on Tuesday!

Day 6 of Suffolk’s #earlyvoting2020 starts at 8am today. Through the first five days, 67,962 Suffolk voters have cast an early ballot compared to 8,533 this time last year— 696% more!
Day 5 of #EarlyVoting starts at 8am today. Reminder: Any Suffolk voter can vote at any Suffolk Early Voting location. (Different from Election Day, where a voter can only cast a ballot at one’s own assigned polling place.)
Day 4 of Suffolk #EarlyVoting starts at noon today. And through the first three days, 32,275 Suffolk voters have cast an early ballot compared to 5,252 this time last year— 581% more!
In 2019 after nine days of #EarlyVoting 17,008 Suffolk residents voted early. As of 2:30pm of day 2 of 2020 EV, 17,103 Suffolk residents voted early. Seven more EV days to go!

2,213 Suffolk voters cast an “early” ballot today. A successful day rolling out a vastly new process and technology. Our fine employees worked through hiccups in 2 of 10 locations, but we were at full speed about 1hr after polls opened. Early voting re-starts at 10am tomorrow.
