Philadelphia is a more inclusive city today, but that inclusion was built through decades of civic action and organizing. What exists now was shaped through sustained engagement across public space, policy, housing, and community care.
Today, access to gender-affirming healthcare in PA is legal and supported by many. But orgs like Eromin Center had to run first without city support.
Community care filled gaps before formal protections existed, shaping later policy.
When it comes to improving our city, these are funds that could do real good. It's time City Council acts, fully investigates this slush fund and returns public dollars to the public. (2/2)
