Philadelphia is a more inclusive city today, but that inclusion was built through decades of civic action and organizing. What exists now was shaped through sustained engagement across public space, policy, housing, and community care.

Today, access to gender-affirming healthcare in PA is legal and supported by many. But orgs like Eromin Center had to run first without city support.

Community care filled gaps before formal protections existed, shaping later policy.

The Sheriff’s Office cites “fiscal responsibility” as a core tenet of their work. They can do so by eliminating their $8 million slush fund and putting that money into the City’s budget.
