इसके बाद देश के सबसे बड़े बैंक ने अपनी याचिका में इलेक्टोरल बॉन्ड से जुड़ी सुचना सौंपने के लिए 30 जून तक का समय माँगा था. आज SC ने इस SBI की याचिका को ख़ारिज कर दिया है.

संवैधानिक पीठ के द्वारा सुनाएँ गए इस फैसले में भारतीय लोकतंत्र की जीत हुई है! आज सर्वोच्च न्यायालय ने @TheOfficialSBI द्वारा दायर की गई याचिका को ख़ारिज कर दिया है. कॉमन कॉज इलेक्टोरल बॉन्ड स्कीम में मौजूद अपारदर्शिता के खिलाफ शुरुआत से ही लड़ रहा है.

याद रहे कि सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने 15 फरवरी, 2024 के अपने फैसले में इलेक्टोरल बॉन्ड योजना को असंवैधानिक घोषित कर दिया था और एसबीआई को 12 अप्रैल, 2019 से 15 फरवरी, 2024 तक खरीदे गए इलेक्टोरल बॉन्ड का विवरण 6 मार्च, 2024 तक @ECISVEEP को सौंपने का निर्देश दिया था.

However, SBI filed a petition for extension till June 30, which was dismissed by the Court today. @CommonCauseInd feels that today’s decision is in consonance with basic tenets of democracy to have free and fair elections. It further upholds the citizen’s ‘right to know’.

We believe it is a major victory for democracy in India! The Court noted that the requisite information is sufficiently available with SBI and directed it to disclose the information by the close of business hours of March 12, 2024.
