Consider this… Even when the Federal government offers #studentloanforgiveness on your debt, you still pay as much as 30% of your income in the form of taxes each year.
So all this forgiveness just gets added to the national debt and assures taxes in the future will remain high

The thread guys on here have it all wrong. The real way to get rich is start a regional bank, make dumb gambles, pay yourself big bonuses, then get the government to backstop your customer deposits while you laugh on the plane to Aspen
He’s right. You can’t just “add a zero” or “make an exception” as it sets a dangerous precedent.
Also, did we learn nothing over the last decade-plus from several banking and other corporate bailouts that throwing money at things only compounds our problem?
I’m sympathetic to the argument that it might be better for the country if bank deposits were FDIC insured at a level higher than $250k. But, if so, then make that the policy with higher FDIC insurance for everyone beforehand - instead of just winging it selectively after the fact.
Wait, didn’t we lose like 20-million + jobs during COVID?
