Struggles of a Middle Class Salaried Man: The Missing Increment.
As a middle-class salaried man, I thought the increment I got at the beginning of this year would help us save a little more and enjoy life a little better.
Then the rent increased. School sent the revised fee structure. Insurance renewal arrived with a higher price for the same coverage. And the same grocery basket somehow started costing more.
Everyone had already made plans for my increment. I was the last person to come on board.
This is the frustrating part of being a salaried person. Your salary gets revised once a year. Your expenses don’t wait for that meeting.
So you start making small adjustments.
Order food less often. Postpone buying a new phone. Reduce the holiday budget. And on it goes.
Each adjustment sounds manageable. But put them together, and you realise you’re earning more while slowly giving up things you could previously afford.
Then some adviser comes along and says, You should save more. Of course. Retirement needs money. Children’s education needs money. Emergencies need money.
But all of that has to come from the same salary that’s already paying for today.
And when you complain, someone points out that you earn more than many others. You know that. You’re grateful for what you have. The bills still need paying.
Most of us aren’t expecting something luxurious after every increment. We’d just like a little breathing room: some savings, an occasional outing, and the ability to handle an unexpected expense without recalculating the whole month.
Instead, the salary goes up, the expenses follow, and the family meeting ends with:
“Let’s postpone it for now.”
Sri Lanka have chased down 430 against England! 🤯🇱🇰
Pavan Rathnayake’s 130, Avishka Fernando and Dasun Shanaka’s 97 each, and Janith Liyanage’s unbeaten 61 sealed it with one ball to spare.
What a bloody chase! 🔥🏏 https://t.co/4ryfCj8msz
@DeepikaBhardwaj She keeps hitting him while he holds back. What the fuck gives her that right?
Taking advantage of someone’s restraint is cowardice. Nothing powerful about it.
He could easily slap and she will cry all way to police station 🤦🏻♂️
After a long thought, I came to the conclusion that, she probably shouldn’t marry.
If she doesn’t want children, her dating pool is already much smaller because a lot of men who want marriage also want kids.
Then come the other 1000 filters - attraction, values, finances, lifestyle, personality, family, expectations, and everything else. Even among men who also don’t want children, most are likely to fail somewhere on that list.
She may spend years searching and just end up frustrated.
So why force it?
If someone genuinely compatible comes along by luck, great. Otherwise, staying single is perfectly fine. Marriage isn’t compulsory. 😂
If a woman earns her own money, cooks for herself, lives independently, and doesn't want children…
What exactly should motivate her to get married?
Men, your real answers are welcome.

The funny thing is, if I do the same things she listed for herself, she’ll call it the bare minimum.
Then comes another ultra-funny argument. You’re not working for me. Even if I wasn’t there, you’d still be going to office and earning. 🤦🏻♂️
What they don’t understand is, If you weren’t there, I probably would have retired by now enjoying life doing whatever I wanted. 😂
Anyway, it’s like blowing a trumpet in front of deaf ears.
If "victimhood" was an Olympic sport, women would win Gold, Silver and Bronze.
Whatever the man does is just "work," whereas the woman' work is broken down into 10 blocks, as if the man's work has no blocks and zero mental load.
No. We want to marry a woman who shares responsibilities equally - financially and at home.
Pregnancy and childbirth are obviously different. During that period, she deserves whatever extra support she needs or asks for.
Outside of that, if both are working, both contribute financially and both contribute at home.
Plenty of men are perfectly happy with that arrangement.
Don’t these people realise divorce is an option? 🤦🏻♂️
You want to leave your husband and start a new life with your lover? Fine. Get divorced and go.
How does “let’s murder him instead” become the preferred exit strategy? Absolute insanity.
A woman in Uttar Pradesh’s Baghpat plotted her husband’s murder with her lover, planning everything from the route he should take to avoid CCTV cameras to the sleeping pills he should mix with her husband’s liquor. She also sought regular WhatsApp updates as her lover carried out the killing. The motive, police said, was to eliminate her husband and move to Dehradun with her lover to start a new life together.

@IndiaToday Don’t they really understand that divorce is an option and you don’t really need to kill a person to move on with another person. I am appalled.
Make stupid policy decisions that create drought-like conditions in the first place.
Then distribute freebies to deal with the consequences.
What a joke this government is.
The bigger joke is the complete lack of any meaningful opposition.
