So proud of @GenderCool champion Stella. She was so good today at the #USSenate Hearing on the #EqualityAct. She embodies what the future looks like. Are you ready? Support the #EqualityAct https://t.co/xAirOPVKtg
I tend to start my messages to my team with "hi y'all."
I just had a meeting with my co-worker, who said her son knows us by seeing our names on Slack and in Zoom meetings. The other day she noticed him writing to his friends, starting the message: "hi y'all."
It's really easy to feel alone and like you aren't making a difference, especially now. But hearing this made me feel like I'm connected to my co-workers, even when we're all remote, even if I don't know what way we are connected.
As an aside, I'm actually really loving this platform for hosting my writing. I tend to write a lot of things that I never publish, so I'm hoping to start publishing more on here. Already have another feature in the submission queue I'll share soon!
I'm entering my first ever fiction-writing contest - https://t.co/DWa2fM3rQJ's Little Black Book challenge! You can read my entry here (it's only 800 words, you have time for it 😉): https://t.co/Oq3Y5Ozrmr
Lately I've been drinking a lot more tea 🍵
I bought some rooibos and mint green tea to try out! Didn't really care for the rooibos (maybe needs some honey?) but the mint green is lovely.
Anyone have tea recommendations? 😂
On another note I'm starting to think I'm cursed? When I joined EMC it was bought by Dell a week after I started. When I joined VMware the CEO left two months later 😂😂😂
Sad to hear the news about Pat Gelsinger going to Intel, but it sounds like he's really excited about the opportunity. Hoping VMware's next CEO will continue the generosity and people centric approach I've seen in my 2 months here.
How is it that no matter how much time I spend looking at something and puzzling over a problem, the solution always comes to me right as I hit send on a message to someone asking for help? 😂😭
When I say "embarassing" too, I really mean, it's embarrassing that a product was this poorly designed. I don't expect people to know to dig two menus deep.
As much as I love PowerPoint's presentation mode, it's embarrassing how many folks don't understand how to change the view when screen sharing, and just end up showing the entire slide show in PPT itself.
The tree skirt has also been run over multiple times. There was an incident this morning with mystery crashing and much yowling, but it may have been Christmas tree unrelated
I put the Christmas tree up this weekend and in 24 hours Emet has
- Gnawed the bottom branches, prompting me to order bitter apple spray and in for now wrap the branches in tin foil to dissuade him from chewing
- Climbed the Christmas tree (fake tree, idk how he got his claws in)
