Born in Koran village of Barmer district, Mand singer Gawri Devi gave a new identity to Rajasthani folk music with her melodious voice. After her marriage, she made Pali her workplace and gave memorable performances across the country. Kesariya became famous with the song of Balam.
The famous and excellent Akashvani of Godwad (Pali) was an artist of Mand singing. She contributed significantly to the propagation of folk art with her husband, Mishrilal Rao, and died at the age of 98. His life has been an unparalleled example of dedication to folk art, music, and the culture of Rajasthan. Her art and memories will live on forever.

Amid speculations of a possible alliance or merger between the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the Congress in West Bengal, Adhir-Mannan opened the front. However, on Wednesday, both parties categorically denied any such formal talks or agreement. Despite this, the recent meetings of the top leaders of the two parties have given rise to various speculations in the political corridors.
Meanwhile, there is a strong opposition within the Bengal Pradesh Congress to any alliance with the TMC. Senior Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury and former state president Abdul Mannan have openly opposed any political understanding with Mamata Banerjee. He clearly believes that if the party goes with the TMC, there is bound to be a rebellion in the state unit. Significantly, in 2011, Mamata Banerjee had secured power in Bengal with the support of the Congress and was also involved in the Congress government.
But in 2012, this alliance was broken. Since then, relations between the two parties have deteriorated further. Now, once again, the buzz of the two parties coming closer has fuelled discontent within the state Congress.

लेकिन 2012 में यह गठबंधन टूट गया था। तब से दोनों के बीच रिश्ते अमूमन तल्ख ही रहे हैं। अब एक बार फिर दोनों दलों के करीब आने की सुगबुगाहट ने प्रदेश कांग्रेस के भीतर असंतोष को हवा दे दी है।
