Here is our new essay!!! It is a brief anarchist critical appraisal and rearticulation of Ostrom's core-design-principles for managing the commons

Some major social movement dead ends: 1. state approaches to socialism (revolutionary OR reformist) 2. Identity fetishism/reductionism/essentialism 3. campism. ^This stuff literally destroys libertarian/egalitarian thrusts of social movements by destroying them internally. /1
Whether the DSA remains a democratic-party neosocdem org, or becomes a 3rd party socdem org of some kind, or becomes a Leninist org of some kind: it remains infused and enthralled to means and ends of managing state and capital and reproducing class relations accordingly /1
While the DSA are self styled as "democratic" and "socialists", they can be critiqued for in fact favoring electoral forms of obtaining authoritarian power within fundamentally hierarchical systems that are incompatible with democracy and socialism. /6
@EcoTechBro And yet, lower case c communalist means and ends-- Bookchin's non electoral and arguably most essential part of his worldview even as his view increasingly supports his municipalist electoralism by end of his life-- still has too much to offer to inform means+ends and org dualism
@EcoTechBro Both in its fullness, dialectical back and forth relations of specific and mass org, its determinate features of how specific org functions, determinate functions of specific org in relation to pop org etc. + its lack of Bookchin's city gov approach (so crucial to B's vanguard)/2

In the USA, we have campist/tankie groups and dem party groups leading mass movements country wide. From the PSL to the DSA. So alienating to those who know better. So sad for those fooled into being pawns of such dead ends + hierarchical means/ends. /3
"the influence of movements by anarchism means seeking for them to have the characteristics that we stand for: force, class struggle perspective, combativeness, autonomy, direct action, direct democracy and revolutionary perspective." -FARJ
"By contrast, it seeks to give them certain determined characteristics so that they can proceed towards the construction and development of the popular organisation, and point towards the social revolution and libertarian socialism." -FARJ /2
"Thus, the anarchist organisation has social work when it creates or develops work with social movements, and social insertion when it manages to influence movements with anarchist practices." -FARJ /3
"more than simply interacting with social movements the social work of the specific anarchist organisation must seek to influence them in practice, causing them to have certain operating characteristics." -FARJ /1
