Is anyone still able to do deep work?
With the AI prompting there's always the wait time so I either switch to another prompt or watch some Youtube. Feels very fragmented.
Before AI it felt much more like deep work.
What happens to the direction of science when we delegate it to AI?
With @seungonekim, we ranked all 6,617 #ICML2026 papers with AI—the AI Awards.
Findings:
1⃣Humans & AI disagree. Significantly.
2⃣AI is highly influenced by online hype.
3⃣AI preferred papers w/ perceived impact and generalization across settings, whereas humans preferred novelty.
4 AIs agreed fairly highly with one another.

The most important technology problem of the next 5 years:
Creating a broadly accepted standard for agents to identify themselves to service providers, so that providers can adjust the way they interface with clients (as compared to human-based traffic).
In the interim (i.e., for the next 6 months), there will be a cat-and-mouse game that agents will play -- to circumvent detection and maintain their product's utility during this growth phase.
However, this will only be a stopgap and it will not be the terminal state of the world.
LinkedIn is becoming 90%+ AI posts: not just the comments but so many posts summarizing a well-written article using AI
In all fairness, LinkedIn brought much of this on themselves: 12 months ago they added a button to write with AI; inviting AI writing (to juice post numbers?)
Maybe we can ensure full employment with programmers forever like this too? Every line of code must be manually reviewed before you're allowed to merge! Ensure that any agent use does not lead to too much unauthorized acceleration.
I think this advice is not as true anymore:
1) the durable skill behind “using AI better”
Is unclear as AI gets easier to use
2) Increasingly, organizational systems bottleneck AI gains not individual workers
3) The effect on jobs is uncertain but may impact entire job categories
Small bird, fast wings, Kolibri is here.

Now the weights are yours. Run it on your own hardware, under Apache 2.0.
1/ Somewhere in your company today, an expert rejected a perfectly plausible answer. A controller caught a revenue figure that counted deferred bookings. A security engineer blocked a release that passed every test but would have handed an AI agent write access to the production database.
I want to get design tools builders together in Toronto. Share > Build > Use > Share. I think we have the best there are. DM me if interested.
Very tired of things that used to work and now just aren’t working.
Yes I’m talking about technology, but not just that.
Low standards everywhere… it adds up to stress in my day that could’ve easily been avoided. Shared standards used to be a thing.
Figma doesn’t want you to use MCP
Amazon doesn’t want you to shop with agents
Reddit won’t let Claude access threads
X won’t let ChatGPT read tweets
It’s starting.
This happened with APIs 8 years ago.
