@mid_day 8 years fighting the pandemic of illegal banners, yet the battle continues. Politicians put up banners everywhere but remain absent when citizens seek solutions to local problems. Publicity is easy; accountability is leadership. #Bandra#Mumbai
Mumbai residents are demanding stricter action against unauthorised banners, flex boards and posters, arguing that merely removing them does little to deter repeat violations.

@richapintoi 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂 The irony! His banners have defaced Mumbai with hoardings across BKC, Bandra West & East is now asking for their removal!
What happened? @CJP_for_India effect? 😜 Mumbai’s plot just got a lot funnier!
We should hold @ECISVEEP@electionmumbai accountable! Post 2002 we have again rectified our names, hence mismatch with 2002! They have the electoral registration history relating to every EPIC number from time of first registration. Why ask for proof for their erroneous rolls?
Prior to 2002 @ECISVEEP software garbled the spellings of our names. In 2026, citizens are asked to prove that they are the same persons recorded in 2002 to remain on the Draft Electoral Roll.If the system created errors, the burden cannot be shifted onto voters. @electionmumbai
URGENT: Pedestrian footpaths being systematically captured in Swapna Nagari, Karmaveer Dadasaheb Sambhajirao Gaikwad Marg, Mulund West!
Despite repeated complaints, letters, emails and an RTI to BMC, the weekly vegetable market continues to occupy our pedestrian footpaths every Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM.
This evening, 15–20 hawkers arrived with vegetables, fruits and other goods and occupied the pedestrian footpath—what appears to be the first such mass capture of the footpath in a single day.
We are attaching geo-tagged photographs and video as evidence.
Worse, the Momos tempo/cart has resumed operations. When our activists questioned why he had not moved, he questioned them in return: “What authority do you have to stop me from occupying the footpath?”
This is precisely what happens when persistent encroachment is allowed to go unchecked.
HIRWA has worked with the authorities to keep these footpaths hawker-free since 1987. We cannot allow systematic occupation of public pedestrian space to become the new normal.

Hon’ble authorities: Please act before the entire pedestrian corridor is lost. Footpaths are for pedestrians—not for permanent or weekly commercial occupation.
Pedestrian First must mean Pedestrians First in reality.

Mumbai has only 0.88 sq m of open space per person, yet 20 BMC-owned plots totaling over 330,000 sq m remain locked under private control.
This isn't just a crisis of dwindling open spaces—it looks like a blatant swindling of public land.
Mumbaikars deserve their parks, gardens, and playgrounds back.
@mybmc must stop delaying its repossession policy and reclaim our city's lungs immediately!

Leadership. Good Governance. Public Trust.
We often celebrate the individual who makes a difference. However, the real goal should be to build institutions that make a difference every day.
That is what leadership in public life should ultimately be about. Not power for its own sake. Not prominence. Not personal recognition. It’s about the public good.
Leadership means having the integrity to do what is right, the courage to take difficult decisions, the fairness to apply the law without favour, and the humility to listen.
But individual integrity is not enough. The real test of leadership is whether it makes the institution stronger. Public institutions should not depend on heroes.
And good governance is not the responsibility of government alone. Government must serve. Businesses must act responsibly. Citizens must participate. Institutions must remain accountable.
Public trust is earned in the everyday, one decision, one interaction, one institution at a time.
Leadership is not about creating heroes. It’s about building a system that works.

@mybmcWardHW Raised on 27 Sept: missing manhole cover near a school, Waroda Road, Bandra West. Complaint marked “Valid” and still “In Progress.” No action yet. ⚠️
How long before basic safety standards are maintained? @mybmc#BMC#SafetyFirst#BandraWest
> MHADA to HC: MFA has no right to Bandra plot
> But MHADA itself born in Dec 1977!
> Land was taken from original Adivasis of Mumbai by Collector in 1964.
> Playground for maidani khel is needed, not Convention Centre. Save Neville D'Souza Ground!

To order a simple ginger tea at our domestic airport, one has to scan a code, select through that, then log in to adani one and pay. @Adani_One
My question is WHY?
When the counter of @Chaayos is manned with a screen and scanner/ cash machine . What is the problem in just taking an order ?

Cc: @DighavkarKiran sir, BMC has refused to clear the footpath in the past because of handover issue between @mhadaofficial and BMC. Your intervention will help clear footpath.

This is for your reference,Bandra west thr was no Sunni Kabrast nor Hindu Shamshan. The dead would be buried and cremated at Bandra east Navpada which was nearly appx 2.5 km route and on foot passing thru heavy traffic SV rd, the bandra talao rd, the Navpada rd west, railway bridge then Navpada rd east to Kabrastan. Since year 2009/ 10 i was pursuing with the then Congress govt for the same. After yr 2014 change of govt in Mah , they were not taking interest, one Mr Furkan Qureshi filed PIL ,to which even I joined in yr 2016/17 in Bombay HC and demanded Kabrasthan & Shamshan at Bandra west behind Nargis dutt nagar slums open land touching the road going to Sea link. After various hearings in year 2024/25 HC gave order to govt, MSRDC and Bmc to allot that land. Which was done, MSRDC handed over 3 land parcels appx 3000 sq mtrs each to Bmc in 2025. The Cemetry /Kabrasthan reservation is endorsed in DCPR 2034 at that location, entry in property card of Cts No: 792 has been completed. Sub division of land and fencing has been done. New rd of 9.15 mtrs has been endorsed and physically all encroachments removed. All this work is in progress since 1stApril 2025. Now some work pending, Bmc maintainance and health dept has given a list of requirements to Bmc Architects. Funds allocations in final stage. Some local waelthy social workers aree creating false propaganda after losing the yr 2026 Bmc elections. This fight i had started for Kabrasthan, Samshan an Cemetery, I will see to it that this is whatever work is pending will be got completed. As a local Muncipal councillor in near future we will get this so that we can give burial and cremate on these lands at Bandravwest .@alm144@CommunityBandra@bandrabuzz
New Aarey Stall with loft at Manuel Gonsalves Rd opposite St Joseph's school gate to store in loft and sell over 100 approved items prohibited in school canteen! What a farce! @AshwiniBhide@mybmcWardHW@Tukaram_IndIAS rules should apply to all.
This is the law & order situation in Mumbai , a sitting minister in @CMOMaharashtra cabinet putting a huge illegal banner blocking the signal shows what civic sense do they have & pity on @mybmc@MTPHereToHelp that they can’t take action after seeing a ruling party banner .
