We are the Adult SLT team in Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust. We are a small but friendly community team with a passion for our profession!
'Bye for now' to our hard working team leader & lovely friend Jan Huddleston who has led the Adult Community SLT service here for 8 years!👏🏻 Jan is taking a well-earned retirement for 1 whole day....before returning to Ribbleton Clinic to join Community Neuro Rehab part-time. 💐
Thank you so much to our local residents who are showing their support for the NHS at this worrying time by leaving messages of encouragement and thanks on our office gates. 🙏🏻

We are big believers in the power of Life-Story books for people living with dementia. Our fab SLT Assistant Holly works closely with service-users & their families to collate photos, special memories, family-trees & more, and helps them to reminisce & celebrate life together.
A ‘Life Story’ is a tool that’s often used by #AdmiralNurses. It involves working with families to create a Life Story account for the person with #dementia, to help them reminisce and to show others who they are and what they care about. Watch the video: https://t.co/7fSLgCsaOM

Speech and Language Therapy is a really rewarding career. I graduated last year and am so pleased I chose to retrain. Every day is different, but I go home feeling I've made a difference to someone.

Big #ThankfulThursday to Jessica Matthews from @CommunitySLT who attended our Young Onset Dementia cafe on Tuesday to talk about word finding difficulties. All who attended enjoyed their summer time treats in the garden. Looking forward to our next meeting on 10th September.
