BREAKING: Former SGF Babachir Lawal has announced his resignation from the ADC following Atiku Abubakar's emergence as the party's presidential candidate, saying Tinubu would be a better president than the former vice president.

Lawal said the ADC presidential primary results were written to favour Atiku and insisted he won't be part of the former vice president's rigging machine in the 2027 presidential election.

He added that Atiku is incompetent and a tribal, religious bigot who shouldn't come close to the presidential office.

This interview happened in August 2025 shortly after Mark and co completed a hostile takeover of the ADC.

This man is Hon. Leke Abejide. He is an unapologetic supporter of Tinubu. Do not be deceived by his ant voice, he is a billionaire and was the first person to win a national assembly seat back to back using ADC.

He did it in 2019, defeating APC, PDP and other parties to win the 2019 Yagba Federal Constituency election in Kogi State. He repeated it in 2023. So, he's no push over.

By virtue of that he became ADC National Leader.

Unfortunately, the first thing the coalition people did after their takeover of ADC was to suspend this man using Dino Melaye.

The attention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been drawn to a false and misleading report circulating in sections of the media regarding a purported “price list” for expression of interest and nomination forms for the 2027 General Elections.

The APC states categorically that the report is FAKE, and did not emanate from the Party. To be clear, no decision or announcement has been made on the sale or pricing of forms for the 2027 elections. The report is a mere figment of the writer’s mischievous imagination.

We urge Party members, the media, and the general public to disregard the report in its entirety.

Is Sen. David Umahi (@realdaveumahi), the Hon. Minister of Works who has also received awards like “Personality of the Year (Infrastructure Transformation Champion)” from Aljazirah, “Extraordinary Personality of the Year” by the Silverbird Group, and in my opinion one of the most result-driven Ministers of Works Nigeria has seen, an oversight to you, Daniel? Or you have suddenly forgotten the scale of ongoing federal road construction and rehabilitation across the country under him?

Do you also need God to come down from heaven to tell you that Dr. Tunji Alausa (@DrTunjiAlausa), the Hon. Minister of Education, is one of the most active we have had in that sector? Before you argue, when last have you heard of prolonged ASUU strike in this country? Unless you will tell us that you did not see or you have not heard of the education reforms that have been going on under him.

Under him, are you not aware that students who are going to technical schools to study and learn any handwork will not pay a dime, rather he or she will receive about ₦45k stipend every month to encourage them to study? I can go on and on about what he has been doing, and let me not even talk about the Student Loan Scheme that you and I know about.

And you are making this tweet and you do not remember that you have Festus Keyamo (@fkeyamo) as your Hon. Minister of Aviation? Do you think it is by chance that airport infrastructure and operational direction are getting more attention under him?

Oh, God came down from heaven to review policies and engage stakeholders? Sorry, the suspension and review of the airport concession arrangement that caused serious controversy in the sector was carried out by ghosts or angels, not him, abi?

Are you blind or is your brain locked when you are typing this that you did not remember Olayemi Cardoso (@DrYemiCardoso), our CBN Governor, under whom Nigeria has witnessed tighter monetary policies aimed at stabilising the naira, restoring investor confidence, clearing parts of the forex backlog and pushing banking sector recapitalisation? Or you want to pretend you have not been following developments in the financial system?

And what about Yusuf Maitama Tuggar (@YusufTuggar), the Hon. Minister of Foreign Affairs? Are you saying you have not seen Nigeria’s renewed diplomatic engagements, investment drives, regional security consultations and foreign policy repositioning efforts? Or is it that when things do not fit your narrative you suddenly lose memory?

Daniel, sometimes it is better to stay quiet than to make statements that expose either poor observation or deliberate mischief. Not everything is content. Not everything is engagement farming. Some of us are actually paying attention to governance and policy direction in this country.
