@ATRightMovies Few people know it, but there is a "kinda sequel" to Mulholland Drive ... INLAND EMPIRE, also by David Lynch !!! That's it for me.
(This is probably the Everest of Laura Dern's acting. Too bad so few have seen it.)
@TheCinesthetic Ways to start the recommendation :
"Yeah well it's a Luc Besson movie - wait ! Hear me out ! Don't run ! He really was a good director once !"
Stanley Kubrick’s filmography fascinates me. How did the same guy who made Dr. Strangelove also make The Shining & Barry Lyndon? Let alone Eyes Wide Shut & 2001. Kubrick’s filmography was so diverse but so consistently excellent. We may never see another filmmaker like him again.
@Filmfanatick@TheCinesthetic We can see a pattern in QT's movies with French actresses if we look at the Melanie Laurent arc in Basterds and the Julie Dreyfus trunck scene in Kill Bill. He loves French Girls so much he can't see they act worse than a potato salad.
@TheCinesthetic All the scenes between Mélanie Laurent and Jacky Ido in Inglourious Basterds (especially when she exposes her plan in the cinema hall). It is not even High School Theater Class level, that is just embarassing amongst such a cast in such a movie.
