We join Canadians in mourning the lives lost in the fire at CFB Wainwright.

To the families and friends of those who died, we extend our sincere condolences. We wish a full recovery to those who were injured, and our thoughts remain with everyone awaiting news.

We recognize the first responders who acted without hesitation, and the medical professionals who are providing care to those affected.

To the members of the Canadian Armed Forces and their families, we honour your service and stand with you during this difficult time. 🇨🇦

Canada-U.S. trade has entered a new era. Is your business prepared for this next chapter?

The list of Canadian goods facing new 50% U.S. tariffs is broad—and surprising in places. But the tariff list is only the beginning. For Canadian businesses, the questions now go well beyond “Are we subject to a tariff?”

This is where #GovernmentRelations becomes essential to business-risk management.

At @CompassRoseGr we help organizations assess their exposure, identify the stakeholders and decision-makers that matter, develop the evidence and messaging to make their case, and build strategies for multiple scenarios.

Yesterday, @CompassRoseGr's @MarciSurkes led an engaging fireside chat with the Honourable @RalphGoodale at #AMCUnite.

From the future of #CUSMA to strengthening Canada–U.S. relations and expanding global market access, the discussion explored key issues shaping Canada’s trade landscape, the unique challenges facing the agricultural manufacturing sector and how to maintain competitiveness.

A key takeaway: ongoing collaboration and innovation are essential for Canada to remain globally competitive. Thank you to @AMCshortlinecda and Donna Boyd for the opportunity to participate in this important session.

This morning, attendees joined a timely fireside chat with The Honourable @RalphGoodale , facilitated by Marci Surkes of @CompassRoseGr. Their conversation, on “Trade Talks: CUSMA, Competitiveness, and Manufacturing Canada’s Future,” offered valuable insight into the evolving dynamics shaping Canada’s trade relationships and the pressures facing agricultural manufacturers.

From Canada–U.S. relations to the future of CUSMA and global market access, the discussion provided delegates with a clear, high-level look at the issues influencing competitiveness across the sector.

Compass Rose was on the ground at #CANSEC2026 this week — and the energy in that room was hard to miss.

The Prime Minister's announcements landed with weight: a new national advisory council drawing expertise from across the country, a partnership aimed at protecting Canada's sovereign capacity in the north, and an unmistakable signal to industry that the government is actively seeking engagement.

For those who follow defence procurement cycles, the scale of what's being put on the table is striking. Analysts and industry veterans at the event used the word generational — and it wasn't hard to see why. Commitments of this magnitude don't come around often.

The fall budget is being positioned as the execution phase — where stated priorities become contracts, timelines, and real industrial capacity. The next three to five years, by most accounts in that room, will define Canada's defence industrial base for decades to come.

The queue is forming. For manufacturers, innovators, and companies with something to offer in terms of domestic capacity and jobs for Canadians, the window to engage is open now.

Whether the private sector rises to meet the moment remains to be seen.

Early days — but consequential ones.

#SPOTTED: What an incredible couple days at #CANSEC2026. Huge credit to the team at @CadsiCanada for bringing together leading defence and security minds, leaders, and innovators under one roof.

The conversations this year felt different — urgent, focused, and action-oriented. Canada's security landscape is evolving fast, and the Compass Rose team left energized by the momentum toward real, domestic solutions and partnerships built for delivery.

Until next year. 🇨🇦
