Sharadchandra Govindrao Pawar was written off in 1967, when he contested his first Vidhan Sabha election.

He was written off in 1978, when he joined the Congress (U). He became the youngest CM of Maharashtra at 38.

He was written off again in 1983, when he became President of Congress (S). He won his first Lok Sabha election from Baramati the next year.

When the Congress did not win an absolute majority in 1990, he was written off. He became CM again with the support of 12 independent MLAs.

In 1999, when the NCP was created, he was written off as politically irrelevant. For the next 15 years, the NCP remained in power in Maharashtra.

Those who wrote him off in 2014, and then 2019, and then again with the split of the NCP in 2023, had to eat their words when @NCPspeaks won 8 out of 10 seats in 2024.

So, for those writing off Sharadchandra Govindrao Pawar today, I have one piece of advice: history, as they say, has a tendency to repeat itself.
