The objective of the meeting was to see the impact of urban livelihoods interventions, including value addition and micro, small medium enterprises as pathways for strengthening risk resilience for the urban poor.

Kamuzu COMSIP Cluster in Kasungu has launched a Mbeya manure business meant to boost the groups savings & serve other farmers.

One bag is K45,000 which according to the CF of the group is affordable to the average farmer compared to the current costs of chemical fertilisers.

COMSIP Cooperative Union Ltd has signed an agreement with HIDCO Housing Investiment and Development Cooperative Society Ltd that will see Cooperatives and households of COMSIP members trained in decent housing that uses environmental friendly materials.

Apart from getting start up tools, the youths are also getting a loan averaging MK300,000 from COMSIV Ltd to establish them in business.

These are youths on social protection programs of Social Cash Transfer and Climate Smart Enhanced Public Works and are in COMSIP groups.

The minister of Youth and Sports Honourable Uchizi Mkamdawire, MP has today launched the tools distribution exercise to 721 youths under the Youth Skills Challenge Support in Kasungu.
