We need *all* our doctors on the front lines. The extraordinary circumstances of COVID-19 require extraordinary steps to keep our best-trained physicians on the front lines. Learn more: https://t.co/mN0W7yakcO #COVID19
For any residents (PGY5) who wrote their Royal College exam before September 11th, have you received results? Which specialties have not received them, yet? Some specialties who wrote after Sept. 11 have received their results.
@Royal_College
@Royal_College when will the rest of the specialities, who haven’t heard from you, be informed about their results? Peds wrote on Sept 10/11 and haven’t been updated, while other who wrote before them have had their results back?
They have never been transparent.
When pushed, they procrastinate and run down the clock so their candidates are pushed in a corner.
The push for transparency needs to be done as a group, rather than one individual pushing for it.
Our group would like to help with this effort
@Royal_College will you be releasing the pass/ fail rate this year for each discipline? I think in the honour of being transparent this should be released. Especially this year. If you are not, candidates should know why you are not. Transparency is key to trust.@ConcResidents
Regardless of whether you failed or passed, across any speciality, drop us a line!
We are happy to connect anonymously and discuss a strategy to push for transparency.
Remember when we asked about determining factors for @Royal_College success rate for IMGs trained in 🇨🇦?
Check the snapshot below from a retrospective research study
Funded by the Royal College.
Is that why it takes months to get the results out?
@vernnaik@smoffattbruce1
Let’s add @Royal_College!
Have you seen their operating budget & executive compensation?
You’d think they operate without income by the way they run things & refusal to be transparent.
We’ve seen failed states operate better than these organizations
@smoffattbruce1@vernnaik
We are not lawyers, but we can give a name to this type of treatment: Discrimination.
No matter where you graduate from, if you trained in Canada or were deemed competent to sit the exam, you have to treated the same. It’s the same exam.
@Royal_College@vernnaik
Once upon a time, not too long ago, in a land not so far away, people of were given literacy tests to be able to vote but not all were marked the same.
Know why this was done? To keep the number of a certain type of voters away from the polls.
I don’t think age or gender play a role.
I do feel for my IMG colleagues, cause I think place of training plays a role. Ex: a 🇨🇦 trained resident would pass with a 75%, but foreign trained may need a 80% for the exact same exam.
This may be done to keep # of licensed docs low
If you know anyone who did not pass the @Royal_College exam, at any point, or tried to challenge/appeal their results - send us a DM!
We are trying to get an understanding as to how this useless organization operates and evaluates.
Sharpen those pencils and put your thinking caps on for this MCQ.
Which one of the following, if not all, determine your @Royal_College exam failure rate?
A) Gender
B) Age
C) Place of training
D) English Proficiency
@vernnaik@Royal_College
PS - we have some sources!
These exams have become nothing short of a money making scheme for these bodies.
They profit off students, after they racked tens of thousand of $ to go through med school, & have no way to fight these colleges - & if they do, they become a target
@MedCouncilCan@Royal_College
With the increase of 7-day average of COVID a cases across 🇨🇦, the @Royal_College & @FamPhysCan have to announce their plans for the upcoming exams in 2021
They have had over 7 months to prepare
Know what the sensible solution to all of this? A solution to have avoided the COVID outbreaks, during a global pandemic, and results being lost?
Cancelling the exams and giving automatic certification if doctors passed their residency and evaluations
@FamPhysCan @Royal_College
Per the letter, they have graciously allowed them a rewrite in approximately 10 days.
Clearly the morons that are problem solving have never had to take an exam like this before
